The Opportunity

We are engaging a Senior Tax Consultant on a fractional basis to support a US-headquartered client expanding into the UK and additional European jurisdictions. This is not a theoretical advisory role.

The successful candidate will translate tax strategy into practical, compliant implementation across operating entities, working closely with THE CFO HQ leadership, local advisors, and client stakeholders.

You will help shape the tax operating model for European growth while ensuring day-to-day compliance obligations are met with rigour, best practice, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• International Expansion Advisory
  Guide the client on UK and European tax structuring considerations including corporate presence, permanent establishment risk, transfer pricing, and indirect tax exposure.
• Implementation & Operationalisation
  Move beyond design into execution — establishing registrations, processes, documentation standards, and governance frameworks required for compliance.
• Corporate & Direct Tax
  Support corporation tax matters, filing requirements, and interaction with local authorities and external providers.
• Indirect Tax / VAT
  Advise on VAT registrations, cross-border transactions, invoicing implications, and reporting obligations.
• Transfer Pricing
  Assist in defining, documenting, and embedding practical transfer pricing policies aligned to group operations.
• Risk & Controls
  Create pragmatic control environments to ensure accuracy, audit readiness, and defensibility.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
  Partner with US finance leadership, European operational teams, and third-party advisors to ensure alignment between strategy and execution.
• Ongoing Support
  Provide fractional leadership and oversight as the European footprint evolves.

What We Are Looking For

• Senior tax professional with deep experience across UK and multi-jurisdiction European environments.

• Background in international expansion, ideally supporting US or non-European parent groups.

• Proven ability to deliver both advisory insight and hands-on implementation.

• Strong working knowledge of corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing frameworks.

• Experience coordinating with external firms while retaining ownership of outcomes.

• Commercial mindset with the ability to balance optimisation, risk, and practicality.

• Comfortable operating within fast-growth, evolving structures.

Experience from Big 4, top-tier advisory, or in-house international groups is highly attractive.

• Contract structure aligned to project phases and expansion milestones.
