The Opportunity

We are seeking a Temporary General Ledger Accountant to support one of our clients during a critical period of transition and delivery. This assignment is ideal for a technically strong finance professional who thrives in fast-moving environments, brings structure and discipline to financial reporting, and can quickly integrate into an existing finance function.

You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring accurate, timely information for leadership decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management
  Maintain and control the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Month-End & Year-End Close
  Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations. Support timely and high-quality close processes and assist with audit requests where required.
• Balance Sheet Integrity
  Own key balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve issues promptly with clear supporting documentation.
• Financial Reporting Support
  Assist in preparing management information, statutory support schedules, and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
• Process Improvement
  Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements to controls, workflows, and documentation.

Collaboration
Work closely with AP, AR, payroll, FP&A, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial data flows across the organisation.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or strong QBE profile.

• Proven experience in general ledger accounting and financial close environments.

• Strong reconciliation and journal preparation skills.

• Comfortable operating in change, transformation, or scale-up settings.

• Ability to work independently while engaging effectively with stakeholders.

• Strong systems capability (ERP experience essential; multi-system exposure advantageous).

• Detail-oriented, reliable, and delivery-focused with a professional mindset.

Assignment Profile

• Interim / temporary engagement.

• Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.
