The Opportunity

We are appointing a Consultant Finance Analyst to join one of our clients on secondment. Based primarily in London, this role will require travel to Birmingham approximately 3–5 times per month to support on-site stakeholders.

This assignment sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and decision support. You will enhance reporting quality, strengthen forecasting discipline, and provide meaningful analysis to senior leadership.

It is ideal for a commercially aware analyst who can operate with pace, clarity, and independence while representing THE CFO HQ brand on client site.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Performance Analysis
Deliver high-quality analysis of revenue, cost, margins, and operational KPIs to support decision-making.

Management Reporting
Prepare weekly and monthly reporting packs, dashboards, and commentary for leadership teams.

Budgeting & Forecasting
Support planning cycles, reforecasts, and variance analysis, ensuring assumptions are robust and transparent.

Business Partnering
Work closely with operational leaders in both London and Birmingham to improve financial understanding and accountability.

Data Integrity
Challenge inconsistencies, improve data reliability, and enhance reporting structures.

Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardise reporting and analytical workflows.

Ad-hoc Support
Assist THE CFO HQ and client leadership with scenario modelling, investment appraisals, and performance deep-dives.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualified, part-qualified, or strong QBE finance professional.

• Experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or management reporting roles.

• Advanced Excel capability; familiarity with BI or reporting tools is advantageous.

• Confident communicator with the ability to work across finance and non-finance stakeholders.

• Self-starter able to operate autonomously in a client environment.

• Comfortable with travel requirements.

Previous interim, consulting, or secondment exposure is beneficial but not essential.

Assignment Details

• Base location: London.

• Travel: Birmingham approximately 3–5 days per month.

• Contract: Interim / secondment.

• Start: Immediate or short notice preferred.

• Duration: Initial term with potential extension.
