The Role

As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial activities of the business, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting decision-making and maintaining effective financial controls.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration

Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable

Processing invoices, supplier payments and reconciliations

Monitoring cash flow, forecasting and financial planning

Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting management accounts

Managing company expenses and financial records

Assisting with VAT returns and maintaining compliance

Liaising with external accountants, suppliers and stakeholders

Supporting payroll administration when required

Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Accounts Manager, Bookkeeper or similar finance position

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes

Experience with accounting software, including Sage or similar systems

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

A proactive approach and confidence working independently

High levels of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information

Desirable

AAT qualification or equivalent accounting experience

Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting

Knowledge of cash flow forecasting and budget management

Experience working within an SME environment
